Step 1

Treatment 

The filler is injected into the back of your hands just below the skin’s surface using a fine needle. Certain factors will affect how many injections you have per hand including your skin type, your age and your lifestyle. Most patients need about 5 injections per hand. 

The dermal filler is completely safe as it contains hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance that is found within your body but gradually depletes over time causing skin to appear thinner.  

The dermal filler with hyaluronic acid rejuvenates the skin by replacing the lost volume. 

Step 2

After treatment 

Once the dermal filler has been administered, you can continue with your usual routines including going straight back to work. Your practitioner will advise you of anything that you should or shouldn’t do after treatment and this can include avoiding alcohol and avoiding too much exercise immediately after treatment. 

Any side effects to the treatment tend to be related to the injection rather than the hand filler. Some side effects include redness to the skin, itching, tenderness and some minor swelling which will soon disappear. Allergic reactions to the treatment are very rare with only 1 in 20,000 patients claiming to have had a reaction. 

Dermal fillers in hands last for approximately 12 months, after which time, your hands will look the same as they did before you had the hand filler treatment.
